Arnold, one of the Bwiza boys in Burundi, is home after 2 weeks in the hospital. He had malaria and typhoid. Very scary. Glad he’s able to take the meds at home now.
Ship Hope to Africa, our 40 foot container of donated items for 6,000 amputees, has reached Malta, in the Mediterranean Sea, for transloading. The new estimated date of arrival is June 9, rather than the 16th.
This fall, we hope to have a race and a fun run to raise support for continued construction at the ‘mini-Boystown’ in Burundi. Ship Hope to Africa was loaded in Omaha, NE, on April 15, went by truck to Kansas City, went by rail to Norfolk, VA, and hit the sea on April 27. She is expected to reach Freetown on June 16.
