This fall, we hope to have a race and a fun run to raise support for continued construction at the ‘mini-Boystown’ in Burundi. We are looking for a coordinator and volunteers to organize “Racing for Africa 2011”. Please contact us if interested. The next step at the ‘mini-Boystown’ will be to complete the inside of building 1 so it is livable. We want to develop this land out in the countryside so the orphans may move away from the negative influences of street life. Jonathan and I (Katja) visited the site in January 2011 and were thrilled to see the development from the generosity of donors. We were delighted to hear that some of the older street boys were paid to make the bricks for the construction. Suzanne, who oversees all the work we support in Burundi, is always acting strategically for win-win situations.
