I enjoyed talking with my Burundian friend Suzanne about Christmas at Bwiza Home. Those who needed clothes received them and they had a feast. Some of the older youth requested, in place of this, to have a portion of the Christmas money to travel to their region of origin. Suzanne explained how important this is as they come of age and can likely return to the communities where they lived before their parents died. They will legally inherit the land of their parents, and it’s good for them to have relationship established there. Each of the children and youth from Bwiza Home were included in the decision making, and each one was happy with their Christmas blessing. Thanks to all who made this possible!
