Orphanage

Bwiza Home in Burundi was purchased in 2004. Katja Starkey saved up 1/3 of her teaching salary for a year to purchase drumsthe building. Boys and girls are taken in when a new person commits to sponsoring a child for $35 a month. Children are given a loving home, food and attend local schools. These orphans have earned a true sense of dignity in the community by learning to play traditional drums.

Newton Orphanage in Sierra Leone opened in 2013.  It shelters 32 children who were living on the streets.  These children are cared for by a Matron and two helpers, and receive food and schooling.  We still need permanent sponsors for $35/month.
