Burundi is passing through difficult times with upcoming elections. According to the news, more than 20,000 people have taken refuge in Rwanda, 11,000 people fled to Tanzania and 7,000 others left for Congo. Schools are closed, shops are closed, prices have gone up two to four times.
From Burundi — ‘Thank you for sending provisions for the children. The stock was almost empty because of the difficult situation we are passing through. Today I took risk to go out in order to get food for children because I was afraid for the coming days.’
