Here is a list of the children who are living at the Newton Orphanage, and a little of their history. Many of the parents were killed or maimed during the war – please consider sponsoring.

1. ALPHA : 9 years of age, no one to look after him. Father and Mother died in the war.

2. SARAH : 8 years old, both Father and Mother were killed after amputation in the war.

3. ALIMAMY : is 7 years old, his mother was captured and the father disappeared in the war and was never found.

4. MOURAY : This is 8 years old both parents were killed in the war.

5. HASSAN : is 4 years old, his father is dead and the mother cannot afford to look after him.

6. USUF AND AMINATA : Usuf is 5 years and Aminata is 7 years, their father died of pain after he was beaten by the rebels, their mother is alive but she is an amputee and she survives only by begging.

7. AMINATA : she is 7 years of age, is the sister of USUF which is number 6 both of them shard the same story.

8. IBRAHIM AND AMINATA : Ibrahim is 11 years and Aminata is 5 years, both father and mother were killed in the war.

9. DAUDA : is 11 years old, his father was a double amputee who died, and the mother cannot afford to look after him so he lives on daily begging for survival.

10. HAJA : is 5 years old, her father is an amputee and cannot afford to take care of her, the mother is dead.

11. ADAMA : Is 4 years old, her mother is dead and the father is a war wounded and cannot afford to take care of her.

12. MARIAMA : She is 10 years old, her father is dead while the mother is an amputee, she depends on daily begging for their survival.

13. MOMOH : is 9 years old, Father dead, the mother is sick, lying in the hospital in a critical condition and nobody to look after him.

14. ABDUL : Is 9 years old, his father died in the war and his mother is an amputee.

15. JOHN : is five years old, his father is dead and the mother is an amputee.

16. HASSAN : is 6 years old, the father is dead and the mother is not able to take care of him unless they beg for food.

17. AUGUSTINE AND ISATA : Augustine is 8 years of age and his sister is 6 years, their father is dead and their mother too is dead, they are living with their Aunty who is a left leg amputee.

19. ANDREW : is 9 years old, father dead, and the mother is too poor to take of him.

20. ABDUL : This one is 10 years old. his farther is dead and the mother was wounded in the war.

21. SILLAH AND MOHAMED : Sillah is 8 years and Mohamed is 5 years old, their father was a double amputee and he died of unbearable pains. All they had as a family was destroyed by the rebels and so the mother is unable to look after the children for now she depends on begging.

22. FUDIA : Is 11 years old, her father is a left amputee, the mother is dead, her father is most times suffering from pains so it is difficult to look after her daughter.

23. ISATU AND ALAJI : These are brother and sister from the same patents, Isatu is 11years and ALAJI is 4 years, the mother is dead and the father is a double amputee, he cannot afford to look after them.

24. FATMATA AND LUCIAN : Fatmata is 12 years and Lucian is 10 years, they are of the same family, their father was wounded in the war and their mother was captured.

25. AMADU : Is 12 years old, his father was killed in the war and his mother had her left leg amputated, at the moment he has nobody to look after him.

26. PATRICK : Is 8 years of age, his father was killed and their properties were taken away from them, the mother is left with no choice now but to beg for their survival.

27. GABRIEL AND SAIDU : Gabriel is 10 years and Saidu is 5 years of age, their father is dead and the mother is unable to care for them.

28. IBRAHIM : Is 10 years old, his father died in the war and his mother is now blind, because of her present condition she cannot look after him.

29. IDRISSA AND ALIE : Idrissa is 10 years and Alie is 12 years old. Their father is an amputee and their mother was captured by the rebels. The father is sick of pains and because of his health he cannot work to take care of his children.
